Every WSL Championship tour brings the world’s best surfers competing in the world’s most iconic breaks, sacred for all surf lovers. Almost all the native places of CT surfers are included in this list, every of them obviously has his favorite spot, surfing breaks of which they know every single condition. But where waves break that, however perfect they may be, can make even world champions falter. Plus the training that brings the CT surfers to compete in the tour is not only physical because it is necessary an excellent mental resistance to the continuous travel from one country to another, the effort of adapting to the rhythms of the competitions, to the tension and the fear of injury. Therefore, beyond the rankins, whoever participates to the WSL is already a winner to have reached this level and to be able to say that they make surfing their job. As the competitions unfold it will be possible to get a picture of who will maintain the top five which, let’s remember, is currently this for men (from 1 to 5) Gabriel Medina, Filipe Toledo, Italo Ferreira, Conner Coffin, Morgan Ciblic; and for the women: Carissa Moore, Tatiana Weston – Webb, Sally Fitzgibbons, Johanne Defay, Stephanie Gilmore.
